Our Story
Our Roots Grow Deep
Silverthorne Homestead & Boutique is a multi-generational homestead that originated in Peyton and found its way to Stratmoor Hills. We began our business and our way of life in the 1987, when Grandma (Gaga) Mary first fell in love with the land in Peyton and started our familie's dream. Unfortunately, life changes so the homestead has moved to Stratmoor Hills, but the dream lives on.
We are also now affiliated with Double Diamond M Meat. They have a beautiful ranch in Brighton, Colorado. The most amazing livestock you could ever hope to see. It has become a second home for all of us at Silverthorne. Their ranch is truly a place of peace and wonder. Double Diamond M Meat strives to work with the community. They do so much to give back and have an operation you genuinely feel good about buying from. The livestock is in excellent health, they are loved and it shows. Their beef is ethically sourced, dry aged for 21 days, grass fed and grain finished and is absolutely delightful. They take great pride in the product they give you.​

At Double Diamond M Meats we are a family run operation. We take great pride in carefully sourcing top quality livestock and providing the very best life for each and every single animal. Every animal is ethically sourced and handled with love and care. We are also very heavily involved in 4h fostering the development of future farmers. We strive to provide top tier meat at an affordable price. We also do work with many restaurants and are able to fulfill commercial volume of orders if that is something you are interested in.

Miley is new to everything this journey brings, but has an excellent head on her shoulders. She is great with animals and has surprised even herself with her green thumb. Some people were just born for this life and she is one of them. She also has a great eye for design and often aids in helping with logo and product design. She has a brilliant artistic mind and is ready to start her own branch of our family homestead in Missouri.

Liz has been a part of Silverthorne Homestead since the original homestead in Peyton. As a matter of fact, she is as old as the original homestead and was born into homesteading.
Being a homesteader is faced with extreme challenges, but Liz has always loved it and has always held it near and dear to her heart. As challenging as it can be, it can be equally rewarding. That is why she siezed the opportunity to start a mini Homestead the very moment she could. It is also how and why she roped in some folks with dreams as big as hers, a.k.a. our incredible family. One day she knows we will get back to our true country roots with the multiple acres, but for now this is home. She has always been a steadfast believer in the fact that no matter where you are, that you to can homestead.

If it were not for Gaga Mary dreaming a dream that seemed too big to be possible we would not be here. This lady dug her heels in and chased after a vision of a simpler life. That also meant an incredibly difficult life. She gave all her love and worked like nobody else we have ever seen to keep the dream alive.
It is through her unrelenting dedication and indomitable spirit that this dream has carried. She has kept the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet has always been the kindest, most devoted, driven, and inspirational person throughout every adversity she has faced. It is in her honor we all carry on the torch with this way of life.
She motivates us each and every single day with her unwavering commitment to just simply being a beautiful human being. The kind we all wish we could be. She is our hero.

He has built coops, garden beds, loafing sheds, he helps maintain plants and the animals, assists at farmers markets, assists in sales and pretty well is the greatest reason that the company has moved forward. He is also our primary beekeeper. With so much knowledge and experience, Clayton has proven an invaluable part of our team.
