As I navigate through my daily life, I am often asked why I never plan fancy trips or vacations. I always respond by stating that I have intentionally tied myself to my land, caring for my animals, livestock, garden, and general home maintenance. While there is truth to this statement, the reality is that I have created a life that I do not desire taking a vacation from.
My heart lies in my garden, which serves as my refuge and favorite place to be. Surrounded by buzzing bees from our apiary and our playful animals, I find solace and peace in tending to my plants and watching my children play. Every winter, I spend my time resting, decorating, cooking, and feasting, all while planning for the upcoming gardening season. My days are filled with thoughts of how to improve and nourish my garden, ensuring another successful year on our homestead.
I have discovered that true happiness lies within the simplicity and beauty of my surroundings. My roots are deeply embedded in the soil, and I am content to dwell in this peaceful realm. Each day, I am inspired by the growth and abundance that my garden provides, reminding me of the importance of nurturing and caring for the land that sustains us.
In the end, I have found that my garden is not just a physical space but a place of emotional and spiritual fulfillment. It is where I find joy, peace, and connection with nature. So, while others may question my lack of desire for extravagant vacations, I know that I have already found my paradise right here on my homestead.
