Planting the seed

The garden should be so much further along than she is. It is partly the mosquitos that have chewed me up and down. Partly the goat with mastitis needing extra love and care. We have freshly hatched quail today which is always a blessing. The chickens, turkeys, fish, ducks, dogs, cat, bunny and ducks are all doing fantastic. However, my garden is the forgotten item this year.

I need more top soil so I have started searching for a low cost opportunity. That has been a great challenge. I keep planting seeds that keep transforming unto small beautiful plants, this is my second round, only to watch them crowd themselves out and die. It is a very frustrating season for me. I have so many plans and so much ambition. I am struggling to get things done as I have children and my household keeps passing a cold around. It is challenging to occupy the children and even more so to want to do anything when you feel yucky.

Who knows it could be the rain we aren't used to and the fire from Canada making us all feel so badly. Compared to what those poor folks are going through my problems are so minimal. I feel terrible for even feeling discouraged. These poor people are losing everything they own and I'm upset over not getting my garden going.

I suppose perspective is everything. It is time to focus more where my blessing are rather than what is a deficit in my life. It is truly humbling when you compare your struggles to others. No matter what you can always find someone who has it worse than you do. So I end this post in complete and utter gratitude and the realization that tomorrow is in fact another day.
